you know, there is a tv show that is on the same level, and at times above 'the simpsons'...yes it's the family guy

just back from the den (pub at the u of c), a beer or two later...i'll be happy when this latest attraction to crap-hop is over, and we can get on with another music fad. the local radio stations thought it was so cool to play it, that there was two stations that just played hip-hop and r&b...sad.

as you can see from my choice of songs below, current hip-hop is not high on my playlist. happy to listen to beastie boys, old run dmc, even the odd eminem song can be quite bearable, but the same old mtv/muchmusic commercial radio garbage just gives me the annoyances...

mind you, the other choices of radio stations in calgary is not much better, more on that another time.

music is cool, mostly...

bit of a swedish feel to that list of songs...guess it was to be expected. i go through phases as you can see, find a band i like, then i get all the tracks i can by them, and put them on high 'rotation'.

got some more work coming up. there's an IT expo coming up and i volunteered to help out there. after going in one night to their offices to get a bunch of tickets ready, they have asked my to assist the expos project manager, shadow him...will be better than sitting at ticket desks and the like. more interesting, and you know i like a challenge.

ah, the interesting life of me...

www.mark.eaton.net...it just keeps getting better...now with lotsa pics...ever seen a drunk skater or 7?
back at the oval, 0436 is the time here, summer time by the way. 8 hours difference to both aus and europe, sorta. aus is a day ahead, but 8 hours behind...or in normal terms, 16 hours ahead. enough time has now been spent on time differences, and way too much time has been spent telling you i have taken too much time...

looking forward to the long warmish days here, bit like sverige (sweden) last summer...hmmm. thinking about summer training, lots of cycling, rowing (first time for me), more running...and to go against the calgary grain (sp), inline skating. all this has to fit in with work, and study...did you know i'm gonna be a bachelor? twice!

ah, the joys of distance education...great for the incredible procrastinator himself...me! this is being typed as i reply to b'day e-mails from almost a month ago :-(

the lesson for today, not everything improves with age...especially not sultanas (raisins for some of you)...

a couple of the oval coaches asked me for advice on where to go and what to do in aus, as they are going (are now) there. 3 weeks in sydney and a week in cairns...should be the other way around if you ask me. they have family in syd, although what's more important, diving or family...after my last trip to aus, some might wonder ;-)

0204 monday morning, this time not at the oval, but stuck on strange sleeping hours after staying up late friday night...not a bd thing to keep, esp sonce i am back on the 0030-0630 shift wed morning.
