i know it would appear that i am going all geeky right now...it will pass.

if you have a mac on os x, try this with sherlock...it's cool for at least 5 minutes. london cam jam.

time spent in europe can really make you see other parts of the world as tacky, plastic and fake...funny tho', aus appears to sit somewhere in between a 'european style' and the rest. you could say the best of both worlds, if there was a best of both that is.

nb. i do not profess to be an expert of either architecture or style...

just watched the final eps of roseanne, followed by the first ever eps, and george clooney in it (there were many, he had the role of booker for quite a while). dj (david jacob) was played by another actor, who didn't work out too well with my fav actress in the show, sara gilbert.

it was quite interesting to see that the show worked quite well from the very start, sometimes a pilot can be a little rough around the edges, or spend too much time introducing characters and setting up story lines etc...most american audiences need to be led by the hand into a new show. ok, so the concept was not that complex to grasp, but still.

the final eps of the final series has roseanne talk about the source of the characters in the show, and she reveals that they are almost all based on her family and friends, which shows how much influence she had from the beginning, not a bad thing by the way.

roseanne's character reminds me of someone who i knew back during the shows first run, bet you'd never guess who...

you always appreciate something more after you lose/leave it...a british/abc co-production doco about abba today on bravo, has reminded me of this. with sweeping copter shots of the stockholm archipelago, and abba appearing in front of a sea of people at the melbourne town hall on their first concert tour outside of europe, i am reminded of the cities i miss most. many swedes rave about stockholm in summer, and while it's nice there then, it's also full of tourists (being a swedish resident at the time, i was not one of them ;-) ) in winter it's quieter, colder and mostly covered in snow. the last point has the greatest impact on the look of the place, and i think the reason i like it.

just remember, not all blondes are swedish...
